London's New Landmark Cat
10 Downing Street has Larry the Cat, Southwark Cathedral has their Doorkins Magnificat and even the Savoy Hotel has Kaspar their cat mascot. Not to be outdone, Tower Bridge is introducing their very own feline friend, Bella the Bridge Master's cat. The furry Londoner is the star of a new adventure storybook set on Tower Bridge, launching Saturday 15 September.
Bella's adventure was inspired by a true incident - the number 78 bus leaping across the opening bascules of Tower Bridge*. Sixty-six years after the lucky escape, author Tee Dobinson and illustrator Steve Cox have created their own version of the story with Bella at the centre of the action. The clever cat is now set to join the cat club of the capital’s most famous felines.
Children, families, cat fans and book lovers can join Tower Bridge in celebrating the launch of the book with a jam-packed Feline Fun Day on Saturday 15 September. There’ll be lots to do including the opportunity to get your copy of the book signed, free cat bags, stickers and balloons. Read about Bella’s adventure in a special edition of the Tower Bridge Times and there will even be an opportunity to snap a selfie with Bella, the Tower Bridge Cat and become a cat for the day with kids face painting!
Copies of the book can be purchased at: https://shop.towerbridge.org.uk/products/the-tower-bridge-cat-book
