Don your Bridge Master’s cap and whistle this October for a chance to explore Tower Bridge Exhibition for a special after hours event. Hosted in the historic Victorian Engine Rooms located deep at the heart of the Bridge, London’s most iconic attraction will open its doors to host its first ever Museum Mystery event.
As part of the UK-wide Museums at Night initiative, Raising Suspicions: A Fiendish Mystery Inside Tower Bridge Engine Rooms will follow the mysterious disappearance of Leslie the Bridge Master. With just over an hour to solve the puzzle, guests will be enlisted to help track down the villain responsible to find out what really happened to the missing Bridge Master. With four key characters at the Bridge in the frame for the crime, guests can investigate the surroundings, interrogate the suspects and follow the trail of suspicion to discover exactly whodunit.
The atmospheric evening event presents a unique opportunity for guests to immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of the Engine Rooms and uncover the stories of the people that designed, built and maintained London’s best-loved landmark. It complements the new permanent interpretation unveiled earlier this year featuring life-size photographs of workers alongside oral histories and stories recounted by relatives and former staff, adding a human history dimension to the evening.
Devised and performed by leading interactive and immersive theatre specialists group SPECIFIQ, professional actors will expertly interweave stories from the diverse history of the Bridge to lead visitors on an adventure to discover the darkest secrets of the world’s most famous river crossing.
Josephine Noti, Marketing and Education Manager, said: “We are really excited to host the first ever immersive mystery event in the Engine Rooms for Museums at Night. This dynamic addition to our events programme offers guests a fun and intriguing way to explore Tower Bridge and connect with its 123 year history and social heritage.”
Tickets for the evening cost £15. Visit www.towerbridge.org.uk for further information.
