February 2019: Highly regarded London-based Italian chef Massimiliano Vezzi is launching a new Italian restaurant concept, HI Pizza, based in Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites partnership location, set to open on Bath Road, Heathrow this month.
HI Pizza will present a new take on a wide range of rustic regional Italian dishes to cater to both travellers and the local community.
Priding itself on its no nonsense approach to fine dining, the restaurant is committed to only using the highest-quality ingredients in Vezzi’s innovative style, while also presenting a creative drinks menu featuring sparkling frizzante on tap and new takes on the classic Negroni.
Whether visitors are looking to quench their thirst after a long day of travel, or discover Vezzi’s take on delicious modern Italian food, the impressive menu promises bring central London’s passion for gastronomy to the Heathrow area. It features aselection of pizzas, pastas and antipasti, a mouth-watering selection of fresh meats and fish straight from the grill, plus a host of heavenly desserts, including a Nutella- style pizza.
Situated within the grand atrium of the Holiday Inn hotel, HI Pizza will entertain guests with its unique theatre kitchen standing in the centre of the restaurant area. Diners will be able to see dishes being prepared whilst they wait through the restaurant’s open- kitchen format, adding to the ambiance of the experience.
Massimiliano Vezzi, Head Chef at the new Hi Pizza, elaborated on what the dining experience will be like:
“After a successful run as Head Chef in the heart of London, I can’t wait to start on this new venture and introduce a new restaurant concept to the Heathrow area. The UK’s reputation for being home to some of the best culinary offers in the world tends to stem out of central London but we want to bring some of that gastronomic appreciation to Heathrow with HI Pizza. Our commitment to only using the freshest ingredients with some contemporary takes on classic dishes will present a special dining experience that isn’t currently available in the area. The core dishes on the menu showcase different regions of Italy while we’ve also added some unique touches like our Sparkling Frizzanti on tap.”
Highlights from the menu include:
- Scialatielli with white crab meat and grilled courgettes
- Braised pork cheek with polenta and shallots
- Buffalo ricotta ravioli with butter, sage and walnuts
- Crudo e funghi pizza – a mix of wild mushrooms, prosciutto crudo and mozzarella
- Gluten free pizza with mozzarella, mushrooms and cooked ham
- Nutella-style pizza dessert

About Head Chef: Born in Naples, Massimiliano grew up in an environment where food is a passion and cooking is an art. At the age of 14, he started working for various hotels serving Italian cuisine, starting his food journey and enhancing his love for cooking. Massimiliano moved to London at the age of 23, where he started working at Al Duca, St James Street, further perfecting his culinary skills, and has gone on to work at many well-known Central London-based eateries, including Osteria Dell’angolo and Covent Garden’s Margot.
